Terms, Agreements, Waiver, and Release
By registering for and/or participating in a Jefferson College Baseball Camp powered by Shadow Lab,
the participant and, if the participant is under 18 years old, the participant's parent or legal guardian,
agree to the following terms and conditions.
1. Participant Information
I certify that all information provided during registration is accurate and complete, including the participant's name, age, graduation year, school, contact information, emergency contact information, and any known medical conditions, injuries, allergies, or physical limitations.
I understand that failure to provide accurate medical or emergency information may affect the ability of camp staff to respond appropriately in the event of illness, injury, or emergency.
2. Assumption of Risk
I understand that participation in baseball activities involves inherent risks, including but not limited to running, throwing, hitting, fielding, pitching, sliding, stretching, lifting, testing, competition, and other athletic movements.
These risks may include, but are not limited to, muscle strains, sprains, bruises, cuts, broken bones, concussions, heat-related illness, dehydration, overuse injuries, collisions, contact with baseballs, bats, equipment, playing surfaces, or other participants, and other serious injury.
I voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation in this camp.
3. Release of Liability
In consideration for being allowed to participate in this camp, I release, waive, and hold harmless Jefferson College, Jefferson College Baseball, Shadow Lab, Shadow Lab Baseball, camp directors, coaches, staff members, volunteers, employees, representatives, sponsors, facility operators, and any affiliated parties from any and all claims, demands, actions, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses arising out of or related to participation in the camp.
This release includes claims related to injury, illness, property damage, lost or stolen property, or any other incident occurring before, during, or after camp participation, except where prohibited by law.
4. Medical Authorization
I certify that the participant is physically able to participate in baseball-related activities.
In the event of injury, illness, or emergency, I authorize camp staff, Jefferson College personnel, medical personnel, athletic trainers, emergency responders, or other appropriate individuals to provide or obtain medical treatment for the participant.
I understand that I am responsible for any medical expenses, treatment costs, transportation costs, or emergency care expenses that may result from participation in the camp.
5. Injury, Illness, and Removal from Participation
Camp staff reserves the right to remove any participant from activity if the participant appears injured, ill, unsafe, disruptive, or unable to participate appropriately.
I understand that removal from activity for health, safety, behavioral, or staff-discretion reasons does not guarantee a refund.
6. Weather, Facility, and Schedule Changes
I understand that camp schedules, locations, formats, and activities may be adjusted due to weather, field conditions, facility availability, safety concerns, staffing, technology issues, or other circumstances outside of the camp's control.
Camp staff reserves the right to modify the schedule, move activities indoors, delay activities, shorten portions of camp, or make reasonable changes as needed.
7. Payment, Refunds, and No-Shows
Payment is required to reserve a participant's spot.
Unless otherwise stated in writing, registration fees are non-refundable. Refunds, credits, or transfers may be considered only at the discretion of camp staff.
No refund is guaranteed for no-shows, late arrivals, early departures, removal from camp, weather-related adjustments, or a participant's inability to complete all activities.
8. Data Collection Agreement
I understand that the camp may collect player performance data, testing results, evaluation notes, video, photos, and other baseball-related information.
This may include, but is not limited to: 60-yard dash time, flying 10 time, top-end speed, hand speed, bat speed, exit velocity, TrackMan hitting data, defensive velocity, pitch velocity, pitch movement data, spin rate, strike percentage, pitch profiles, Control and Command Score, and coach evaluation notes.
I give permission for this information to be collected, stored, reviewed, analyzed, and used by Jefferson College Baseball, Shadow Lab, and camp staff for evaluation, player development, recruiting, camp operations, and promotional purposes.
9. Public Data Release
I understand and agree that verified player data may be released publicly through Shadow Lab social media accounts, including but not limited to Twitter/X, Instagram, websites, graphics, videos, or other digital platforms.
Publicly released information may include the participant's name, graduation year, school, position, measurable results, baseball data, photos, videos, and/or camp performance highlights.
I understand that not every player is guaranteed to have data posted publicly, and camp staff has full discretion over what data is released, when it is released, and how it is presented.
10. Media Release
I grant Jefferson College Baseball, Shadow Lab, Shadow Lab Baseball, camp staff, and affiliated parties permission to photograph, record, film, edit, publish, and use the participant's image, likeness, voice, name, school, graduation year, position, and baseball-related performance for promotional, educational, recruiting, social media, website, and marketing purposes.
I understand that these materials may be used without additional approval, compensation, or notice.
11. Recruiting and Evaluation Disclaimer
I understand that participation in this camp does not guarantee recruitment, an offer, a roster spot, a scholarship, admission to Jefferson College, or future participation in Jefferson College Baseball.
I understand that camp evaluations are subjective and based on staff judgment, performance, tools, data, projection, team needs, character, communication, and overall fit.
Any recruiting communication, offer, or follow-up is at the sole discretion of Jefferson College Baseball staff and must comply with all applicable school, conference, NJCAA, and recruiting rules.
12. Technology Disclaimer
I understand that the camp may use technology such as TrackMan, Blast Motion, radar guns, timing systems, video, spreadsheets, apps, or other tools to collect and evaluate performance data.
While camp staff will make reasonable efforts to collect accurate information, I understand that technology errors, missed readings, device issues, weather, setup, user error, or other circumstances may affect data collection.
No specific metric, report, post, or data output is guaranteed.
13. Conduct Expectations
Participants are expected to behave respectfully toward coaches, staff, other players, umpires, parents, facilities, and equipment.
Camp staff reserves the right to remove any participant for unsafe behavior, poor sportsmanship, disrespect, fighting, inappropriate language, failure to follow instructions, or any behavior deemed harmful to the camp environment.
Removal for conduct reasons does not guarantee a refund.
14. Personal Property
Participants are responsible for their own belongings, equipment, clothing, phones, bags, bats, gloves, and personal items.
Jefferson College, Jefferson College Baseball, Shadow Lab, camp staff, and affiliated parties are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged property.
15. Food and Allergies
If food is provided, I understand that participants are responsible for disclosing any food allergies or dietary restrictions during registration.
Camp staff will make reasonable efforts to communicate food information when applicable but cannot guarantee that provided meals or snacks are free from allergens.
Participants with specific dietary needs may bring their own food if necessary.
16. Parent/Guardian Consent
For participants under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must agree to these terms.
By registering a minor participant, I confirm that I am the participant's parent or legal guardian and have the authority to accept these terms on the participant's behalf.
17. Agreement
By completing registration, submitting payment, signing the waiver, or allowing the participant to attend camp, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to these Terms, Agreements, Waiver, and Release.
I understand that this agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by law.
